Childrens Happy Notes
This is an interactive music program using many old and new children's songs, nursery rhymes, styles of music, poems, art, dances and more. Children are introduced to different types of music suitable for their age. Children are taught age appropriate musical concepts. I arrive equipped with keyboard and/or guitar, puppets, games, artwork, musical instruments and microphones. I also use bean bags, multi-colored scarfs, balls and parachutes to help children develope a sense of rhythm. About Kathye Flanagan
Kathye Flanagan is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist. She developed an early childhood music program – Children’s Happy Notes - while her own children were in Nursery School. They are now young adults. Kathye recognized the need for a developmentally appropriate music program which she presents to childcare facilities, daycare centers, nursery schools, libraries, Parks and Recreation programs, etc. throughout Connecticut. She runs her own Parent/Child music program at different sites throughout the state. Kathye has worked extensively bringing her music program to children with special needs and their families both through private/state agenies and educators. Kathye is the Director of the Children’s Choir, Youth Choir and Bell Choir at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in So. Glastonbury, CT. Kathye also teaches Yoga for Youth and Children at Sacred Rivers Yoga Center in Glastonbury, CT. She incorporates yoga and breathing techniques into her music class. Kathye combines yoga poses with engaging songs and props. These exercise social, sensory and motor skills and have a calming effect.
